What this offering explores

Conflicts are a natural part of children’s social development, yet they often present challenges for educators working in early childhood and primary school settings. This live online course reframes conflict as an opportunity for learning, relationship-building, and emotional growth.

Drawing on mediation, restorative practices, and trauma-informed approaches, the course introduces a 6-step mediation model adapted for young children. Participants engage in short lectures followed by hands-on exercises, role plays, and small-group simulations, allowing them to translate theory directly into practice. The training also addresses educators’ own emotional regulation and offers concrete tools for handling challenging conversations with parents and colleagues.
This learning opportunity designed for parents provides evidence-based information about the importance and the benefits of creating a nurturing home environment in the first years of life through development-focused simple practices such as share reading, music and play. It also guides to appropriate use of digital technologies and describes the benefits of early engagement of fathers in nurturing care. The course includes 7 short videos for self-pace use.
