Communicating for Change continues that conversation by exploring another essential part of making change possible: how we communicate about early childhood.
Facts matter, but facts alone rarely change how people think. How we frame early childhood, the stories we tell, the assumptions we reinforce and the possibilities we help people see, can shape public understanding and support for action.
In this special ECOS session,
Nat Kendall-Taylor, CEO of FrameWorks Institute, will draw on research on framing and cultural mindsets to explore how communicators can move beyond messages that may inadvertently reinforce fatalism, individualism or other unproductive mindsets.
Instead, the session will examine how strategic framing can build narratives that expand people’s sense of what is possible and generate support for actions that better support young children, their families and communities.

three practical principles for communicating in today’s challenging environment. The session is part of a wider learning journey that began with Breaking Through and will continue into
ISSA Conference 2026 in Lisbon, connecting conversations about how we put early childhood at the center with how we communicate effectively for change.
