What you will explore
This course explores how to extend Serve and Return interactions beyond a single exchange, creating richer opportunities for children to think, communicate and learn.

You will learn three practical strategies for sustaining responsive interactions: engaging in Back and Forth exchanges, following children through Endings and Beginnings as their attention shifts, and using Waiting to give children time to process and respond. Through real classroom examples and reflection activities, you will see how extended interactions can support children’s development and help you better understand their interests, rhythms and capabilities.
